about

I've decided to gradually post the rest of my back catalog on Bandcamp. My albums from 1999-2010 are a lot less electronic, but might be of interest to fans of Jethro Tull, Cat Stevens, or progressive rock in general. These albums represent a time when I was actively performing in the singer-songwriter genre, expanding my love of recording, but not performing with computers on stage.

Up now is a very special project...

"Bloomsburg to Bangladesh" showcases my collaboration with Bangladeshi tabla player Ahm Mostafizur (Bulu) Rahman while living in Bloomsburg, PA. Formed in 2003, Bloomsburg to Bangladesh performed throughout Central PA and were featured on WVIA’s Homegrown Music with George Graham (billed as Moonlight Masala with artist Tom Dennehy).

The album "Bloomsburg to Bangladesh" consists of 11 tracks of East/West fusion with anthemic lyrics and full arrangements, as well as some stripped-down acoustic instrumental music. Instrumentation includes guitars, flute, tabla, harmonium and tasteful use of sampling. Subject manner ranges from whaling to teen violence and fairy tales expressed through sometimes dark characters and situations. A tribute to songwriter Tom Waits is also given with Jeremy’s rendition of “Yesterday is Here.”

Jeremy’s third self-produced release, Bloomsburg to Bangladesh is truly a celebration of intercultural possibilities. Several students from the community and singer Nandini Sengupta contribute to the Bangladesh Nationalist Party song “Prothom Bangladesh.” Jeremy co-wrote one of the songs with lyricist Paul Rodericks from India.

These works were composed and recorded prior to my attendance at electro-music 2010 - an event that more or less changed the direction of my creativity moving forward. So there's some heavy folk influences here, more traditional song structures, and styles. This material is almost entirely guitar-centric. There's a few covers, but it's mostly original material.

PS: Physical CDs of these works are still available, but since the trend has been toward downloads, I am not posting them here for now.
